Making loops in wire is a skill which will allow you to go on and make a wide range of jewellery in an unlimited number of styles. Like anything else in jewellery making, it is a skill that may take a while to learn how to do, but with practise, will become easier over time.

Step 1:
Add the bead on to the head pin or eye pin and trim down so that there is approximately 1cm of wire left above the top of the bead.

Step 2:
Hold the wire approximately half-way along the nose of the pliers and the end flush with the outer edge. Carefully end the wire to make a loop.

Step 3:
To attach another piece of wire or ear wire to the loop, use either round nose or chain nose pliers to lift the loop up, hook on the object and carefully push back down.

Step 4:
Make sure that the loop is fully closed to prevent attachments falling off.
